For the Ranch Pie

  • 20g Dried Porcini Mushrooms
  • 1Tbs Oil

  • 1kg Left Over Brisket cit to a small dice
  • 1 Chopped Onion
  • 1 Chopped Garlic Clove
  • 1 Cup Frozen Peas
  • 1 Beef Cube
  • 2 Tbs Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 Tsp Black Pepper
  • 1 Tsp Salt
  • 350g Beef Gravy
  • 600g Mashed Potato
  • 200g Cheddar Cheese

  • Medium Dutch Oven


  1. Cover the Porcini Mushrooms with hot water
  2. Cut the Beef Brisket in to a 6mm (1/4 Inch) Dice
  3. Add the oil to a small Dutch Oven
  4. Add the Onions to the Dutch Oven and cook until they are just turning translucent. Do not brown
  5. Add the Garlic and cook for a further minute
  6. Add the Brisket
  7. Add the Peas
  8. Sprinkle the Beef Cube over the mixture and stir in
  9. Add the Salt & Pepper
  10. Add the Beef Gravy and cook for 20 minutes
  11. Cover the meat mixture with the Mashed Potato and spread out evenly
  12. Sprinkle the Cheese on top evenly
  13. Put the Dutch Oven Lid on and add hot Coals
  14. Cook for about 30 minutes until Cheese has melted and turned brown.
